This photograph captures the striking interior staircase of CaixaForum Zaragoza, Spain, an architectural space where geometry, color, and perspective converge. The structure unfolds in a sequence of triangular forms that guide the viewer’s eye through the frame, creating a visual tunnel of repeating shapes and lines.

The image was taken indoors, handheld, in low light, using a 10 mm ultra-wide lens to emphasize the dramatic perspective and the strong architectural geometry of the staircase. The intense red tones of the structure are part of the building itself, but they were slightly enhanced in post-processing to reinforce the visual impact and highlight the bold character of the space.

Achieving the final composition required exploring multiple floors, angles, and positions, searching for the precise alignment where the triangular forms would repeat and converge toward the center. The result is a photograph that transforms a functional architectural element into an almost abstract composition of color, symmetry, and depth.

This would make a wonderful print!!

Beautiful colours. Great composition, leading likes and the repeating shape is super unique, even as a triangle. Love it!
