My friend wanted photos with her son, I knew she was photogenic but I had no idea he would be too! The feeling I get by looking at this image is...mom and son against the world and don't you dare mess with us. I love that they both have very similar expressions on their faces. Believe it or not he was amazing, he did lose energy towards the end of the shoot, but that was to be expected. So the only challenge with this shoot was to keep him entertained between shots.
Post processing was pretty simple because I wanted to give the image a bit of a raw look. I did some dodging & burning to even out skin tones. I added grain for some grit and obviously I chose to make it black & white.
I shot this with a Canon 5D Mark lll, a Glow EZ Lock 42" White Beauty Dish with External Diffuser, one Alien Bees B800 light with Phottix Ares Wireless Flash Triggers.
