My friend saw some photos of a model she loves and wanted to replicate a particular image. This shot was not that image, but a quick snap of my camera while she was moving into another pose.
I like it because it's candid and and angsty. The fact that you can't see her face you don't really know what her emotion is but you can feel something.
I dodged and burned the skin to smooth it out, but I left some goosebumps to keep it raw looking, plus sometimes retouching "chicken skin" is hard and can look awful after.
I made the image black & white like our inspo shot and added grain to give it grit.
She's a pro model so I didn't really have any issues other than trying to light it similarly to the photo she wanted to emulate.
I used my Canon 5D Mark lll with my large Glow umbrella with front diffuser along with one Alien Bees B800 light and Phottix Ares flash triggers.
