This photo was shot on black and white film at a Count Basie concert in 1979, with a Pentax ME Super, as part of a college photo class. The subject is flugelhorn player, Raymond Lee Brown, who was in Count Basie’s band. The original print is faded and very scuffed. I recently photographed the print with a Fuji X100V and edited it in LR. I bumped clarity to 85%, dropped the shadows -85%, dropped contrast -35%, and made some additional minor tweaks. The result is much more dramatic than the original print. I’m hoping that I may find the negative someday!
