At the end of the day, the Verdon Gorges are plunged into shadow. The vultures, having spent the day searching for food, return to nest among the towering 300-meter cliffs. As they glide over the gorge, they briefly pass through the grazing light, standing out starkly against the dark background below.

As a lover of all things vulture, I adore this shot! It's not often we get to see this view of them. Usually it's from below while they're soaring, or still shots as they're sitting. That rim lighting on the back of the wing is beautiful!

excellent, great use of natural lighting, as a birder myself i know how difficult it is to capture an image like this. Im sure youre using good quality glass.

I have the Sony 200-600mm, it's sharp but not so fast, you often need to bump the iso... I would prefer a 600mm f4 but I need to save money to buy a car first 😂
