In the dead of night from approx 20m, an adrenalin pumping sight. A big male Kalahari lion detects the female being receptive to mating and performs the distinct grimace called "Flehmen response". Lighting provided by a paraffin lamp nearby. Often male lions can be at their most agressive when females come on heat. The shot was taken from inside a tent in an unfenced camp in Botswana. The original is shot in RAF (Fujifilm RAW) and further edited and cropped in LRC. Settings were 1/1250s, F5.4, ISO 64, focal length 323 mm. Equipment used is the Fujifilm XT5 and the Fujinon 100-400 f4.5 - 5.6.
