The day before I took this I was driving by and noticed the moon looked cool setting behind this power plant. So the next day I went back with my camera and decided to photograph it. The sun also happen to set right behind the plant which created this ethereal glow that seemed to last forever. This scene just reminds me of something you would see on Tatooine or something.
This is a 3 shot pano shot at 70mm. I didn't want to shoot it too wide because I felt like you lost the scale of the plant. Shooting wide also made the moon look tiny. Full disclosure I did photograph the moon at 180mm (I was using a 70-180 tamron lens) and composite it in to my scene. I think this actually looks more like what it actually looked liked. Even at 70mm the moon is still pretty small in the frame. Much smaller than it looked like in person.
