This photo comes from my series “The guardian of sorrow” and it is based on an idea that both the model (a_mariangela) and I had to depict a creature that is guarding an entrance. The creature is both a queen and a guardian of the realm of sorrow and sits between her two dogs. The makeup tries to summarise the two faces of sorrow. One sweet and silent (white) and one chaotic (red) that can consume you. I used two strobe lights for this and our main concern during the photoshoot was to take the photos quickly before the dogs got tired and non-cooperative. But everything turned out well in the end. To capture this photo I used a Sony A7RV camera and a 24-70 mm Sony lens. 24mm f6.3 1/250.
