I'm an architecture photographer and twighlight shots are an essential part of my work. This villa, located in Marbella, Spain, sits on top of a hill and it's surrounded by nature. It stands out sort of like UFO that just landed thereThe contrast between the darkness and the artificial lights inside the house make for a very impactful photo capable of summarizing the project's concept with just the one photo (aka hero shot). I shifted up to get rid of part of the hill to give the house protagonism in the composition, as well as giving it a lot of sky to let it breath and balance out the darkness in the nature that surrounds it. Notice how the trees don't really block anything important -I was very careful when placing the camera. There was no need to raise the shadows dramatically, it would have reduced contrast and made the photo look flat, these dark areas work better as shapes or silhouettes.
