This photo was taken in the Serengeti in Tanzania, returning late from an afternoon safari. We were in a 4WD Toyota following the tracks of previous vehicles in complete darkness, when our headlights illuminated this lion standing on the path. My camera was off and in my bag, as we were traveling at night. I did not think there would be an opportunity for more photos that day. Lesson learned, and if I wasn't sleeping ,my camera was always ready for the unexpected.
