I shot this in one of the North Carolina Aquariums. Can't remember if it was Pine Knoll Shores or the one in Manteo. I took it in 2016 give me a break.

If you've ever tried to photograph anything in an aquarium you know it comes with plenty of challenges. Low light and fast moving subjects means high iso's and fast shutter speeds. Not to mention trying to manage the white balance. Eventually, one of these lion fish looked at the camera and I managed to a few sharp photos of it. I took this with a cheap 35mm prime f/1.8 on my old Nikon d3200. My first ever camera. I had really just gotten into photography when I captured this.

For the editing I was having trouble with the color version, it was just too blue. I changed it to black and white in Lightroom and proceeded to play with the sliders until I got something I thought looked half way decent.
