This photo was captured in the Norwegian mountains in Valdres. I found these three trees that made a great reflection in the lake. I waited for the bluhour and had brought my trusted brinkmann 1 million candle tourch. It is hallogen which gives it a warm light, which I prefer (LED is often too blue and cold for my liking). To capture the image I put the camera on the tripod and tried multiple exosures to get the balance right between the ambient light and the lightpainting. I was running backwards and forward from the camera to the right side of the image to side light the trees. It was soaking wet and I only had trainers on, but well worth the effort. What I enjoy the most is the simplicity of it, the element of three trees with a reflection in the water surrounded by dark mountains in the background. In terms of editing, I brought together a few exposures to get the lightpainting into one shot. Slightly cropped and darkened the sky, and added some contrast.
