During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, travelers arriving in Greenland were required to serve a mandatory 5-day quarantine upon landing. Restless and confined, I slipped out into the night with my camera — and found this. Two Royal Arctic Line vessels resting silently at harbour, wrapped in a thick blanket of Arctic fog, their floodlights the only warmth in an otherwise cold and empty world. The stillness felt fitting. A port built for constant movement, frozen in time — much like the rest of us. The warm amber reflections dissolve into the glassy water below, while the mist swallows everything above. A faint arc of light in the upper right — a long-exposure aircraft trail — traces the only sign of the outside world still turning.
