I shot this photo at a canoe polo competition. In canoe polo, players sit in special canoes and try to score goals, like in handball. At the start, one player from each team rushes from their baseline to the halfway line to get the ball that is thrown there. They are fairly fast. I wanted to convey that speed through motion blur. After experimenting with shutter speed and camera movement, I got a few nice shots, like the one shown here. I used a Sony A6700 with the Sony E 70–350 mm f/4.5–6.3 G OSS lens. The settings were 1/10 s at f/10 and ISO 100. The photo is straight out of camera, unedited.
