Bone Series - 2025
While creating a memorial series to embrace and process the recent passing of my father, I decided to take a series of photos of bone details. My son, who was in engineering school at the time, had access to bones his lab, as they were used for testing. Among the box of bones he lent me, there was a bag of very small bones. I poured out this small bags of bones on the table and as I instinctively started to reach towards the pile to sort and arrange, I notice the bones fell into what seemed to be a near perfect composition. I quickly withdrew my hand and picked up my Fuji camera instead and captured this image handheld. Photographed with only natural window light and a small white card as bounce fill, there are no postproduction edits - just contrast adjustments and some dodge/burning.
