This image was created during a boudoir session where I wanted to explore a more subtle, suggestive form of intimacy rather than something overt. The goal was to create an image where the viewer discovers the details gradually: the relaxed pose, knee high stockings, slightly open shirt, and the natural light surrounding her. I photographed the scene through the doorway, using the architectural elements of the room to naturally frame and subframe the subject. I was meticulous about keeping the lines of the doorway, windows, and furniture straight in camera, allowing the surrounding shadows to create a natural vignette and draw the eye toward her.
The room presented an interesting exposure challenge with an enormous amount of light pouring through the windows. I generally prioritize exposing properly for the face, but in this case I allowed the bright windows to remain naturally luminous, knowing the resulting contrast would work beautifully in black and white. Other than adjustments to exposure, brightness, and tonal balance, very little was done to the image. The final black and white conversion transformed what was already there into something much stronger than the original color version. This remains one of my favorite images from the session because the mood, composition, light, and understated sensuality were all created in camera, rather than in post.

I like this photo...one thing I see that in my mind would be to crop the left and right leaving just a little to reveal the framing OR just remove them...
I played around with this idea, and after going back and forth i left the crop that made it seem like i had the vantage point of someone sneaking a peek haha. Which ended up making the photo that much more dramatic! Thanks for the input!
