The GlamSquad is a new app that has nothing to do with photography; it's not even related to retouching or filters. But it can help you on your photo shoots. How? Simple - the GlamSquad app is the 'Uber' of Hairstylists. Need a hairstylist for a simple fix for your model/subject right before your photo shoot? Just pick one of the 10 hair styles available, choose your preferred time (even within 1 hour) and pay. Your professional hairstylist will arrive at your location and do his/her magic.
As photographers, we have to take care of a lot of things for every shoot we plan to do - book a makeup artist, work on concepts, find locations and so many other tasks that can make or break a shoot. Hair styling can be one of the most important things to have for a photo shoot, especially for portrait and fashion related shoots. For big productions you may want to stick with your favorite hairstylist, one that will stay for the whole shoot and work with you during the shoot. But for the smaller shoots with a smaller budget or impromptu shoots with less time to prepare - you should really consider using the GlamSquad App. Yes, you won't be able to have the hairstylist stay for the shoot, but sometimes all you really need is that one makeover beforehand.
The hairstylists are hired by the creators of GlamSquad and they go through background check to assure quality and all hairstylists are professionals who work in the industry. As for the price: for regular blowout you'll have to pay $50, and for more complex styles (like updos and Braids) price can go up to $75-85. Each appointment lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.
The service is currently available only in New York, but is expected to expand to other major cities in the near future. The app creators also seek to expand the services offered by the app, and hope to start offering makeup artists very soon.

IOS only. I dunno. Glance through any glamor mag, where you see far more hairstyling options, and discus what catches your eye with a competent hairstylist. Done. Save on your phone's battery life while you're at it...

"Currently we serve Manhattan and certain areas of Brooklyn (Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, and Williamsburg) However, we are coming soon to other cities too, so stay tuned!"
