Lomography has unveiled the Lomo MC-A, a new 35mm film camera that blends classic analog control with modern usability. Designed for both casual film shooters and hands-on creators, the MC-A offers a 35mm format, autofocus and manual focusing, and a solid metal body built for everyday use.

The company says the MC-A is meant to encourage photographers to “stop curating and start creating,” positioning the camera as a tactile alternative to digital devices. It supports automatic, aperture priority, and full manual modes, with the flexibility to control aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and flash settings directly.

The Lomo MC-A features Lomography’s 32mm f/2.8 multi-coated glass lens, delivering the brand’s signature character, with distinctive color, contrast, and texture that emphasize the creative possibilities of film.

Why It Matters

For photographers and filmmakers, the Lomo MC-A is significant because it bridges tactile analog experience with usability that digital shooters take for granted. Autofocus and electronic exposure modes make it approachable for newcomers, while full manual control and unlimited multiple exposures cater to experimental artists and purists.

Lomography continues to position itself as a champion of film culture. The MC-A’s design reflects the company’s mission of embracing imperfection, experimentation, and hands-on creation in an era dominated by screens. For creators who value process as much as outcome, the MC-A stands as a statement piece in the continuing analog revival.

Lomography. Solid metal body. Lomography. Metal?

Heck yes! So this is a new 35mm film camera with autofocus, manual controls, and a solid metal construction. From Lomo? Lomo?

A moment of silent respect for the Pentax 17, which I’d like to imagine provided some encouragement to other entities to work on new cameras that are a bit more robust than plastic toy cameras (which are their own kind of fun but not for everyone)
