Atomos Offers Hot Swapping With New Power Station

Atomos, known for their field recorders, has recently announced a new portable power solution. The Power Station, as it is called, has the ability to power up to 3 devices simultaneously and features hot swapping. The device is powered by Sony L-series batteries, but adapters for Canon LP-6 and Nikon EN-EL15 battieries will be available.

The Atomos Power Station has the ability to hot swap, which is a feature that allows you to replace batteries on the fly without cutting off the power supply to your devices.

Interesting device that will be helpful but can we stop making things that go underneath the camera? All we are doing is raising the center of gravity and making DSLRs harder to work with for video in the field.

Image this with a sound recorder (like the tascam dr60 or beachtec box) underneath the camera. Now it's like twice the height.

/rant...(sorry I just like the bigger shoulder camera style for video haha).
