The Canon 1D X Mark III Is Coming Soon

The 1D series is Canon's best, always showcasing a lot of their top tech and being the choice of many professionals who need a rugged, capable body that they know they can rely on to get the shot no matter the conditions. And as we approach an Olympic year, the next iteration, the 1D X Mark III, is soon on its way, likely available for preorder in the next month.

The 1D X Mark II is a fantastic camera that is still quite capable after four years on the market, but with the 2020 Olympics approaching and almost half a decade of development, a new model is certainly due. The good news is that the Mark III is on its way soon, as Nokishita is reporting that the camera has been added to the company's product lineup, which normally indicates that preorders will be available within a month, meaning the announcement should be happening fairly soon.

Some rumors have indicated the camera will have features like a small bump in resolution, possible IBIS, a faster continuous shooting rate, and 6K video without a crop. Altogether, it should be an exciting year both for Canon DSLR and mirrorless shooters!

Fingers crossed for high DR 24mp sensor and IBIS

I'd love a new version of the old 1DS Mark III, a full sized studio body would be ideal, 50-60mp and high DR. Probably won't happen.

If you're shooting for online media, why is 50-60Mp a requirement? That's not where this product fits into Canon's range. That's where the 5D product line fits. Shooting action requires high FPS and the ability to get the image to market rapidly. If you're dealing with large images, that will only slow things down. Great connectivity, such as NFC, Wifi and the like are probably the features that will be in this beast. IBIS might be there, but most of the people who use Canon will have L series lenses, which already have IS built-in.

Who said I'm shooting for only online media? I do beauty advertising so I need the resolution. That's why I plan to get a DMF body and back at some point.
