A Review of the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM Lens

A wide-aperture 35mm lens is a great choice for a wide range of genres and scenarios, and Sony's FE 35mm f/1.4 GM offers the company's G Master standard of excellence for photographers and filmmakers looking for high levels of quality and performance. This great video takes a look at the lens and the kind of performance and image quality you can expect from it.

Coming to you from John Sison, this excellent video takes a look at the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens. As part of Sony's G Master line, the 35mm f/1.4 comes with a variety of great features, including:

  • Two extreme aspherical elements for reduced astigmatism, field curvature, and distortion and increased sharpness

  • Nano AR Coating II for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast
  • Two XD Linear Motors and quick and quiet autofocus
  • Customizable focus hold button
  • De-clickable aperture ring
  • Dust- and moisture-sealed construction
  • Rounded 11-blades diaphragm for smoother bokeh
  • Fluorine coating for resistance to fingerprints and oils

Altogether, the FE 35mm f/1.4 GM looks like a strong performer for anyone looking for a premium 35mm. Check out the video above for Sison's full thoughts on the lens.

Great lens! It takes amazing low light photos when coupled with the a7lll.

i need that lens!!

Yes, you do! It's one of my top 10... 11... 12... ?... favorite lenses! Actually, it's probably #2, behind my 200-600mm. It just edges out my #3 favorite, the 20mm f/1.8 G.
