Sigma Announces 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary, an 18.8x Zoom for APS-C Mirrorless Cameras (Including Canon!)

Sigma has announced the launch of the 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary, a new all-in-one zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras.

With an 18.8x zoom ratio, the 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary covers a broad focal range from wide angle to super-telephoto, making it versatile for a variety of photography styles, including landscapes, portraits, wildlife, and sports. The lens is set to launch in April 2025 for L-Mount and Sony E-mount, with Fujifilm X Mount and Canon RF Mount versions following in May 2025.

Key Features

  • 18.8x zoom ratio: Covers a wide focal range from 16mm to 300mm (24-450mm full frame equivalent).
  • Optical stabilization: Up to 6 stops of stabilization at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end.
  • High-speed autofocus: Features an HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor for fast and precise focusing.
  • Close-up capability: Maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 at 70mm for macro-style photography.
  • Compact and lightweight: Designed for portability despite its large zoom range.
  • Weather-resistance: Dust- and splash-resistant structure with water-repellent coatings on the front element.
  • Minimized focus breathing: Reduces frame shifts when adjusting focus, making it more suitable for video work.
