Astroid Rocks, Arizona Outback

I was in one of the most remote areas in Arizona. You can get there by 4wd truck, but just barely. Even then, driving my 1996 full size Bronco in 4wd I got stuck once to the floorboards and had to dig my truck out with my hands and put some flat rocks and stray pieces of wood under the tires to get it unstuck. Dry blow sand is very difficult to deal with, especially when you come unprepared, as I did. I used a Toyo 45A camera, 90mm Sinaron Lens, #61 Dark Green filter and Kodak T-Max 100 film.

I'm not sure why you think you came unprepared...you brought your #61 filter.

I really need to get our and try photography.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming:

You photo reminds me of sailing stones of Death Valley in multiple exposures. WOW...can you imagine how long you would have had to stand there waiting between photos?

Great job Nathan.

I am always prepared in terms of photographic equipment. That's the easy part. What I wasn't prepared for was digging myself out of feet deep blow sand. Legit off roaders carry specialized jacks, very fat tires that literally float on sand like that, the ability to lower tire pressure and then re-inflate. Shovels, tow chains or cables, winches etc. Glad you like the image. Also, I am hardly ever prepared emotionally for what I see. I the content doesn't "blow me away", then the image probably won't blow anyone else away either. But I am continually astonished by the absolute magnificence of what I see when I am out in God's Beautiful Blue Green Planet... His Garden.

Sounds like you may like reading some Edward Abbey, maybe start with "The Brave Cowboy / movie version Lonely Are The Brave", "Monkey Wrench Gang" etc., eventually "Desert Solitaire".

Nice work, Nathan. This looks like waves on a beach that were "petrified" for all time. Nicely composed!

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Two from Tenerife

My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
