Test driving a new (to me) app.

I'm spending time in New York City looking after my son's dog whilst he and his wife are on vacation. Whilst here I am doing what I typically do - use my alone time to explore techniques.

The focus of this trip is to leverage an older iPhone app (Bluristic) that allows for tracking objects during extended exposures.

Here are a few samples of the results. Some focus on the main use case for the app, some are used as a comparison to other apps I have used, and yet more try and leverage an anomaly/bug I discovered in the software.

All images are straight off the iPhone and yet to be edited (when I return home).

All feedback appreciated, discussions encouraged.

Pretty impressive especially since you haven't edited. These images are really interesting to look through. It does do a good job tracking an object. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks PG. Like many apps information is sparse and revolves around the most basic of use cases.

I've been testing this pretty extensively during my trip to NYC, so look out for more in future.

Sorry I'm late. FS hasn't been notifying me with when there is activity.

What a fun App. I checked on Bluristic and it is available for 'droid, but I need an older version to use.

While I love them all it's the third that really catches my eye.

Thanks Dean. I think the FS notifications have proven to be unreliable at best.

I am finding that Bluristic shows possibilities beyond the exiting 'how to's ' if you're willing to experiment.

I'd love to see what you might achieve on the Android if you do go ahead and install. Information on use is limited, so reach out if you'd like some thoughts from my own experiences.

BTW - I am planning to write at least one blog entry on the app once I get home to a PC, so keep an eye out for that.

My 'droid's version is too new for Bluristic to use. I haven't found a viable App. Seems like everything is edit-centeric

That’s a shame. Bluristic is an old app but creates interesting results when pushed outside its intended purpose.
Perhaps there are other Android apps out there that are worth exploring, if not perhaps it’s worth coming over to the dark side …..

Fair enough. You’ll have to fill us in if you find Android photo apps that are worth checking out.

Today I opened up FS and there were 47 notifications. Go figure.

I was wondering what was going on. I haven't had any notifications the last couple weeks which is odd. And today I had 93. I feel like I've missed a lot from the group.

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!
