In The Weeds

I was shooting a few pictures with Sheena, for her horse rescue, and took a few portraits to get into the flow.

I love the second one, and would love it even more if the horizon was straightened. The first one is nice too. In the last one I can't stop looking at her awkward arm ending in a hand that is covering her crotch.

I will look at straightening the horizon on the second picture, I hadn't noticed. As for the picture next to the pine tree, I think that is just how she was sitting when I took the shot, I don't recall posing her, or that she posed herself. It is something I will keep in mind next time I shoot something like this; it was a detail that escaped me. Thank you, Sennia.

The first pose, is quite good, but, she is straining and it is making deep ridges in the muscles of her neck. Two easy ways to fix that, you can choose the color from her lower neck and do a 15% opacity color wash with a soft brush over the whole neck area to knock back some of the detail. It won't remove it, but it will tone it down. Or, repose her by turning her face slightly back toward the camera which will relax the whole neck area. I love the colors, the hat, the hair, and the expression, just a tiny change to fix the neck and you are good to go!

Great Idea, Cindy. I will try that. Many thanks.

The first one is my favorite. I love the colors (even tho bnw is usually my go to) The background is nice- she is lit well. I see what Cindy is saying about the neck. I wouldn't have noticed it either until I got to processing the image.

I appreciate your thoughts, Kimberly.
