Love Nature

I recently retired and have taken photos in all areas, but what i love the most are nature shots. With people you have to schedule time and pose them, but nature is just looking at the beauty and finding that right moment to shoot. Attached are a few of my photos for your viewing and comments. Let me know what you think.

Hey Randall. Thanks for posting these. I really like to potential of the first shot. The bushes in the foreground are a bit overwhelmed in my opinion and I'm not a fan of the fake sunburst but I like the colors. Try to focus on your subject matter and composition right now and forget about the filters and effects and I think your work will improve very quickly.

Hi Randall, when we look through the viewfinder, we tend to concentrate on what's in the middle and do not generally go out all the way to the edges of the frame. We tend to look at only the highlighted focus point. It's a good practice to look at the entire frame for every shot and make it a habit. That way, we avoid either unwanted or distracting elements in our frame, or avoid cropping elements in our picture. In my opinion it's more important to concentrate on framing and composition first than on effects and post-processing. We need to get it right in-camera before we move on to the computer.

For B/W shots, work on the colour sliders too, else the tones will look flat. Adjust the sliders to bring out the elements you want the viewer to focus on. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.
