Cuith-Raing - Scotland

Stay, listen, see miles of mountains before you, rising unforgettable. Come through the columns and see, feel the kindness of the moor. M.C.

Any type of feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

Fantastic photo. Nicely balanced features in near, middle, and background. The cloud patterns lead my eye across the scene in a pleasing manner. Seems to roughly suit the Rule of Thirds to my eye. The photo speaks of a timelessness for me. All good points.

So... feedback of all kinds. Haha. Here goes. The only thing I find mildly distracting of the image is the very front portion of that ravine/canyon. It feels to me as if some of the connecting green of the land was cropped off. Do you have more terrain to play with in the image? Maybe try a different crop edit to see how your scene's mood changes, composition changes?

All technicalities, really. And what seems distracting to my eye might go unnoticed by others. So take what works for you, leave the rest... and go forth to make more neat images. :)

Thank you :) The image was cropped and I see your point now. I don't have to much to play with as it was a 3:2 image, but I should cut more from the bottom. I wanted that water patch in the bottom middle to be seen but I think it makes the crop worse now. Thanks again.

Hi Radu,

Been to Scotland a lots of times, Glencoe and Lock Ness area this year, but not to Isle of Skye. Like your image, but the impression I am getting is, it has been processed via HDR.

I sacrificed a trip to Scotland... set for this very month... to move my wife closer to her beloved New York City. Soooo... saving for an epic Scotland trip begins anew.

Hey Elan, Yes it is. I always try to find a balance between what I feel and see in that moment vs how reality really is. It is hard to explain the feeling also in a photo and so I try to make it happen via post processing.

Isle of Skye is an amazing place you shouldn't miss it.

Would have, but limited for time this year. Plus when we in the Glencoe area, it rained non stop. And the wind was right into my face and I could not keep the lens dry long enough for low light photography.

Keep up the good work

Great "feel" to this image - I wanted to just keep looking at it and checking out all the details. Love it!!

Love love love it! Very calming image.

My only critique would be the bottom crop, I feel like my natural eye movement gets cut off a bit in the middle - whereas if we could see the whole chute/ravine it would more naturally carry along to the right.

Just my two cents - I love it regardless.
