Frost on the mountain

We had the pleasure of spending our Christmas holiday in a cabin in the NC mountains near Maggie Valley. Although it wasn't as cold as it usually is this time of year, but it was still chilly enough to keep some snow and ice on the mountains. On Christmas Eve morning, I decided to get out to find some photos and saw the coolest thing (pardon the pun): the mountain was still frosted over but the valley had warmed up enough to thaw out. It created a great natural effect.

As always, CC is greatly appreciated!

that's pretty cool how it gradually changes coming down the mountain...where was your long lens on this one? did you try it in B&W yet

Unfortunately, the long lens was back at the cabin. lol! I was actually out getting a shot of a farm on the side of the mountain when I looked over and saw this, so I wasn't as prepared as I should have been.

I didn't think about B&W for this... I'll try it. Thanks!

ALWAYS be prepared lol my worst forgetful moment is when i left the memory card in the computer DOH!!!

I agree B&W would look great on this one.
