Is this portfolio worthy? Comments / Critiques

So, this is the story. While on my honeymoon, I did not want to annoy my wife with the camera. She said "bring it". I advised her against it, but I still took it. However, this day we were going to do some trekking in a mountain, so I chose not to take it. This picture, then, was taken with my cellphone.

I present to you the Nahuel Huapi Lake in Patagonia Argentina: The most beautiful place I have ever visited so far.

ALWAYS TAKE YOUR CAMERA!!!!! ... if she loves you that much she really won't care lol.
as to the question.. i would not consider this a portfolio piece but it is a nice moment only due to the fact that there is not really a composition here just a grand vista

I always have a camera on hand and yet, on the rare times I haven't, fickle fate has dropped a gem in front of me as well!

But .... I don't think you are going to pull a portfolio worthy shot out of this one I am sorry to say. It had potential in all of the great layering but there isn't enough light/color difference between them to really shine. Also, there is too much sky to land ratio - in something like this, it would have been great if you could have gotten the first layer of trees and water as the bottom third, the land on the opposite side of the water as a third and sky as a third. (Although on your honeymoon you were wise not to be running around on the hillside trying for a better angle!) Lastly, I would knock the contrast down - particularly in the sky.

Given with respect and true desire to help!

I love the sky in this picture. The image quality is a bit off, not sure if it is just due to the phone. I notice the same problem on my phone pictures taken in low light. Overall though, it would be more appealing to me if there were more lake in bottom. The balance just seems a little off. I wouldn't know about portfolios, but I would definitely have it in may favorites.
