Charles Hallett's picture

North Woods Aurora

I captured this photo of the Northern Lights back on St. Patricks day 2015. Taken at close to 3a.m. in the morning. I spent most of the night shooting down on the beach. Around 3am I decided it was time to head home as I had work early the next day. It felt wrong to leave while the aurora were still lighting up the sky, so I turned around to get one last look at them. Seeing the tall trees silhouetted against the green and red lights was all it took to convince me to take one last shot. I'm glad I did!

And it was a great last shot!

Super cool

I'm so glad you turned around. This is beautiful!

Nice variation on aurora images, Charles! I like that convergence; it gives the image dynamism.
