got up early cloud looked good so i was excited to try a new spot unfortunately it seemed better for fishing than shooting and then a strange low cloud/fog rolled in within 30min it went from sunshine to no shine...

I get this every time in Scotland, I know the feeling, but still you got a nice reflection:)

That's life and for me part of the joy of being a photographer. You never know what you are going to find so best head out with little expectation and enjoy the experience otherwise.
As Ruth suggests, next time take a pole and make the most of the moment.
Looks like my bag will have to expand hahaha
