Cottonwood Canyon

Up early and a drive to a place I haven't been since October. Little Cottonwood canyon in northern Utah is a place hikers, ski lovers and of course photographers love to go. I made the 1 hour drive but sadly the place I was aiming for was still snowed in. But, I did mange to go off and find a place buried in the woods, drawn by the sound of rushing water. Moments like these I treasure, the solitude and peace were very much needed...cotton canyon.

Nice Work Mark! I love the depth. Glad to have the birch in the very front and then the gap until the next row of trees. The visual line from the front, over the water and up the mountain is really superb.

Great image Mark!

Thanks Ruth! Hard to believe this is May but that is the reality in Utah.

One of the things I appreciate about you Mark is that you are always shooting. I love that the stuff you post is from that day or recent past. And, it is misty, rainy spring here - I already miss the snow!

I get it. We've had a VERY long winter here with the most snow in years apparently. I want to get on some of the hikes but that won't happen till the snow melts in the mountains July/Aug. Should have a fantastic flower season in the Albion Basin.

I can't really add to Ruth's comment, so I'll just second that emotion, Mark! You have a way with monochrome.

Thanks Chris! I really have nothing against color...mono speaks to me more.
