After finding my way in the darkness across the slippery boulders of this beach i then patiently waited for the sun to rise. And oh yes did i get rewarded :)
It was a perfect sunrise, beautifully embracing the rugged north coast of Madeira...
It's easy to overlook, but I can really appreciate the perfection of the sun in this image. I have seen a lot of photos similar to this but with ugly bleeding and have showing through. As a whole, this Image shows careful attention to technical matters.
Very much appreciate your detailed feedback David. I like my images to be clean and smooth :) Therefor i used luminosity masks to blend in the highlights in a clean and natural way. The highlights always ask for the most of the attention, so i needed it to be perfect. I also was lucky with the calm sea that morning, no seaspray to potentially mess up the shot ;)
Beautiful tones!!
Thanks a lot Brian!
I’ve bin there with sunset.. but this is way better!
Awesome shot! 💪🏻
Thanks a lot Freek. This is definitely a sunrise spot if you ask me ;) But it can also work when the skies are dark and cloudy... :)
I totally agree!

Very strong image, Kevin! Well composed, and well executed in every way, as the others say. Pretty much what I expect from you, by now!
Huge thanks for your support Chris! That puts the pressure on for my next image :D
Wonderful image. I bet you have been there many times to get that great shot
Thanks a lot Bill. I actually went scouting once during the day. And the next morning i got really lucky with the weather conditions ;)
