Like a typical westerner I'd imagined the UAE as a barren wasteland of sand dunes. Thanks for opening my eyes.

I have to echo the same sentiment. Had no idea there was a mountain range in UAE. Great shot!
I'll add my name to the list of ignoramuses, Eugene. Fine image, well composed and dramatic without overdoing it. I like the glow "around the corner".
I'd have been tempted to slightly warm the rocks, which have a cool magenta hue (possibly from being lit by blue skylight), but you may prefer the cool evening look, and I don't know their real colour, of course.
