Beautiful! Vertical just is better.
For me, it depends on the subject. If it's a generally up and down subject or contains layers stacked from front to back, then I go vertical. If it's a sweeping landscape or the interest is spread a little wider, then I go horizontal.
Below are two examples that show when I choose each method, though I wouldn't say they are my "best" pictures, just two of my better images that show what I'm talking about. Sorry, I know this isn't really letting them "speak for themselves", but I don't think it's quite as simple as one being inherently better than the other.
