Sunrise at Kirkjufell (Iceland)

Sunrise at the iconic waterfall and mountain in Iceland this summer. The light was there just a few minutes, was really happy that the long wait on location was worth it :)

What do you think?

Great picture! Very Well composed and I love the out of focus foreground! Maby a bit to warm/over processed for my taste, but nice work!

thanks a lot for your answer! is the feeling of over-processed only due to the too warm look or something else?

I think it's the warmth and maybe the yellow saturation. Maybe also turn down the highlights a bit, but this is a great photo anyways! it's just a matter of how one style is.

Hi Peter! I agree with Peder on all counts. The OOF foreground is a pleasant change from all the focus-stacked and other multi-exposure images on this site, notably from Iceland, including this spot. I like the way you frame the falls in the flowers.

I find the colours somewhat over-saturated, and a little warm for my taste. Here, in the image as a whole I've reduced saturation, moved colour balance toward blue and reduced exposure, all slightly. I've reduced saturation less in the flowers, since they ARE yellow, and in golden light. To me this looks more natural. In the end, to get it to look more "right" to me, I've done pretty much what Peder mentions.

However, I agree with him too, that this is stylistic choice and I can understand someone emphasising what appeals to them about the subject.

Here is my edit with the photo:) hard to edit low res jpeg, but I think we somewhat got the same result:)

thanks a lot Peder and Chris! Glad you like the framing and OOF foreground - I also do. Setting up the tripod this way took me quite a long time :D

Your responses are really helpful to me as I try to make more natural edits. You two have good points and it looks indeed a bit better with a "cooler style" after I saw it now (escpecially with less yellow) :)
