Orv Salisbury's picture

Great Salt Lake, Utah

This was taken at a rest stop/view point overlooking Salt Lake, watching the reflections of the clouds slowly moving across the lake. It was a sunny day/ partly cloudy with a lot of haze. The image was cropped to remove the close parking area and to concentrate on just the lake and mountains in the background. The processing to reduce the haze may have been overdone a bit. The light strip just before the mountains is the are where all of speed runs are done. Hand held. The scene was very earie. It looks good as a 20x30 on the wall. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome as I know all images can be improved upon.

Beautiful vista!

Looks like it was saved as indexed colors, was that intentional? You mentioned dehazing, not sure if that's just a byproduct of the technique you used. Looks great either way, bet it dose look good in a 20x30 print. :)

Thanks, I love to use the "Topaz" plug ins with photoshop CC and it has many variable presets to use. Quicker then using only PS. Just another tool.

Awesome, yup I like Topaz as well..

Just saved as SRGB

Nice shot Orv! It would look nice on a wall.

Great job, Orv! I can't think of any improvement. Great edit, with an excellent composition. The muted colours, and that beautiful cloud, with the soft sky and the reflections - a feast for my eyes!

Thank you for your nice comment!

The jagged line of clouds is a great complement to the mountain range. Ditto on the edit comments. The lighting choices really complete a wonderful image.
