Long exposures are highly popular in landscape photography, normally used for turning turbulent, violent water into silky smooth flows. However, they are fantastic for creating motion in the sky as well. This great video tutorial will show you how to create such images, including the gear, settings, and compositions that go into making compelling results.
Coming to you from Landscape Photography iQ with Tom Mackie, this awesome video tutorial will show you the ins and outs of long exposure landscape images with clouds. Adding motion to a landscape image via the sky can be a great way to add more drama. One thing to consider carefully is the direction of the cloud movement when you create your composition. While any direction of movement can be visually interesting with the right composition, facing your camera parallel to the direction of movement can create a flow that opens up dramatically to the viewer and also allows a natural leading line to draw the viewer's eye deeper into the image. I didn't mean to promote myself. I just wanted people to see that I am not writing something I know nothing about. I was shocked that this was shared as a educational video. He is probably great in other ways but this one was my first from him and I could not hold it inside mr. Well next time I know that link to my IG wont make it work so I may have to upload few photos to my gallery here in case I want to help others and they want to check me out to even consider taking my words on board.
