Join photographer Laura BC as she embarks on a 48-hour photography challenge in Bali, testing the limits of her Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II lens. Known for her creative challenges, Laura takes this single-lens approach to showcase how limiting your gear can unlock new levels of creativity.
Armed with her Sony a7R V and a high-performing G Master lens, Laura navigates the humid, lush landscapes of Bali, from the lively monkey forests to serene rice terraces. Naturally, a zoom lens isn’t the most limiting option, but longer focal lengths do present limiting scenarios. Over the course of the vlog, she demonstrates the versatility of the 70-200mm focal range, capturing incredible details in wildlife and landscapes alike. The photos and videos she produces highlight the lens’s sharpness, stunning resolution, and the unmatched autofocus capabilities of the Sony a7R V.
Laura’s enthusiasm shines through as she shares her experiences—balancing the challenges of tropical heat, navigating the busy streets of Ubud, and the joys of discovering unexpected beauty. Her vlog isn’t just a review; it’s a personal journey filled with storytelling, vibrant imagery, and valuable insights for photographers of all levels.
Laura encourages viewers to judge for themselves as she presents her final shots. Whether you’re a gear enthusiast or someone seeking fresh creative inspiration, this video is a must-watch.
Experience the adventure and see how Laura captures Bali’s magic with just one lens. If you are a photographer with lots of gear options, why not set yourself a similar challenge? Now, if someone can just book me some flights to Bali, I would gladly repeat the challenge as closely as possible with my own equipment.
The one lens challenge, just use an 18-300mm superzoom. Bring a high MP camera and use both FF and crop modes.
You win the award for least challenging challenge!
I don’t believe 18-300mm comes in FF.
Which means:
1. You can only shoot in crop mode (27-450mm equiv).
2. If shooting with an APS-C body, no need for high MP.
I gotta admit, I got a little excited at first thinking it was FF.
