Duke Gardens

I look forward to this time of year every year. For a short time, only a couple weeks if we're lucky, the cherry blossom trees in Sarah P. Duke Gardens are in full bloom. They give the entire park just a different feeling. The whites contrasting with the greens and yellows and the red of the bridge, it's just a beautiful time to visit the gardens.

I consider this my "secret" spot on the back side of the Asiatic Arboretum. There are tons of photos of the gardens but I haven't seen many from this vantage point where a low hanging cherry branch perfectly frames the red bridge along with the bamboo and the reflection. One could almost think you were in Japan instead of Durham, North Carolina.

Kyle, excellent composition, great colors and depth. I guess spring has sprung in NC

Thanks Paul. Yes, spring is well on it's way here. Although I expect we will have one more cold spell before spring takes completely over.
