Roanoke River Lighthouse

The Roanoke River Lighthouse in Edenton, North Carolina. We usually stop here on our way back to NC from vacation in upstate New York. We split the trip up so we always end up here for lunch, hence I'm always here in the middle of the day.

Mid day shots can make for good black and white images as the harsh light can give you some good contrast between light and dark. One of these days I'm going to get my self here for a sunset or sunrise. Edenton is one of my favorite small NC towns.

What software do you use to convert to B&W? This is a masterful conversion

Thank you! I did the majority of the black and white conversion in Lightroom. I used selective masking to make things brighter or darker. Then in photoshop I played around with the levels. And I used several curves layers but only applied the adjustments where I wanted using a mask and the brush tool. Basically selective dodging and burning.
