Common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)

I spent several mornings preparing for this image, waking up at 3 a.m. to be in the field before sunrise. On the fourth morning, everything finally came together. I was simply in the right place at the right time as this male pheasant spread its wings in the golden morning light. In wildlife photography, patience, preparation, and timing often make all the difference.
