Quiet water

19mm · f/10 · ISO 100

Water rushes through the rapids without questions.
The stone remains. Frozen. Quietly defiant.

Quiet water erodes the banks.
Not with force, but with persistence.
Like people who are not loud. Who do not scream for validation.
Who do not follow the mold because it simply doesn’t fit them.

Today, it is often easier to put on a cold “jacket.”
To wear a mask.
To be what the system expects, rather than who you truly are.

But there is nothing wrong with being different.
Nothing wrong with living more slowly. More quietly. In your own way.

It is easiest to judge others or feel sorry for oneself.
To find excuses. To point fingers at others.
But finding the courage to look inward…
that is the hardest thing.
And at the same time, the most liberating thing you can do for yourself...
