Walt Siegl Leggero

A friend through my Ducati club has this wonderful handcrafted, hand built Walt Siegl Leggero - but unfortunately he lives 5hrs drive away. Stars aligned for one night that he was able to bring the bike to Sydney. It is built using a lot of donor components from a Ducati 900SSie (which was a hand assembled bike too).

A lot of the time I look for locations that aren't geographically identifiable, but this bike is a rare thing in Australia, so I chose a spot that is identifiable to Sydney, Australia, with the Sydney Tower and ANZAC Bridge in the background.

This photograph was lightpainted using an LED light through a softbox. I took 12 separate frames to capture all the details. I ended up only using 10 of them though. Sorted and basic white balance adjusted in Lightroom, then Exported to Photoshop for assembly, then back to Lightroom for the final touch up. I did a video capture of the edit, so when I put that together I'll know approximately how long it took, but it was around 7hrs from start to finish. The whole series of images took about 20hrs of editing.

The initial layering and basic image could have been done in about an hour, but there were lots of light blend/reflection lines that I didn't like and all of a sudden complex editing broke out just to fix some small bits - even used the puppet warp tool for the first time in an edit.

I've posted more of the set in the Automotive Community Group here on FStoppers

***Apologies if you've seen this pop up a few times - I've had troubles with my computer getting the file to upload properly and for some reason had an issue deleting the old file...
