Barn reflecting in North East Creek, Bar Harbor, Maine

I took this with Vincent Lawrence of Acadia Images Photography Workshops at sunset. I loved how the last light of day was still hitting the colorful barn, but the trees and water were in shade, causing an intense reflection in the still water. I shot very low to the water at 50mm f/8, and stitched two portrait shots into a square panorama. Each portrait shot was an HDR blend of 7 exposures with Photomatix’ Merge to 32-bit TIFF HDR Plugin for Lightroom. Stitched with Photoshop and a little “glow” added with Nik Collection’s Color Efex Pro filter.

Camera settings: 50mm, f/8, ISO 800, 7 exposures of 1.3 EV stops from 1/40 to 6 seconds with a Promote Control, 4650°K white balance.

Equipment used: Nikon D700, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Promote Control, Really Right Stuff TVC-34L tripod w/ leveling base, PC-LR panning clamp, MPR-192 nodal slide, and camera L plate.
