On the way back from photographing the milky way at Mt. Hood's foothills I spotted what looked an incredible sunrise but it was 330 a.m. and sunrise had another 2 hours to go! So what lit the sky with ribbon like clouds in the middle of the night/morning? Noctilucent clouds!
Higher than any other clouds in the Earth's atmosphere, noctilucent clouds from at 47 to 53 miles high up in the sky. Only visible at astronomical twilight, these clouds are a rare and incredibly cool phenomena that I can't believe I was able to witness. This shot is a panorama of 13 vertical photos.

Thanks John! Really appreciate the feedback. I was lucky that I only had to wait a few times to keep it empty. Who knows how badly light trails would have stitched lol.
