Gnarled Branches and Colored Foliage

Photographic social media has a strong appetite for dramatic photos. Sometimes beauty is buried deeply within an image and requires contemplation. This is one that I found on a winter walk. The gnarled branches were bathed in highlights. Despite being mid-winter, there was still color in the foliage. I found the luminosity in the branches to be an interesting contrast to the muted colors. The leaning tree was yet another element that I found visually interesting and helped to complete the image for me. The blue sky in the background added another contrasting component.
