I made this image while working as an Artist in Residence for the National Park Service in Acadia National Park in Maine. This is the first spot in the continental United States to see daylight each day. It is the Eastern Most point in the Continental United States. As I remember it the exposure here was very long, on the order of 25 minutes. It might have been the last photograph I made during my residency there. I actually hope that I do get to go back to Maine before I finish my race on this Earth. It is a magnificently beautiful place. Most of the park was donated to the National Park Service by one of the Rockefellers after WWII, when it was a Naval Base. Now, one of the SEAL Teams trains in a part of the park. Extremely interesting place. I used a Toyo 45A camera, 90mm Sinaron Lens with a #8 Yellow Filter and Kodak T-Max 100 film.
