How to Change the Color of Clothing in Photoshop

One of Photoshop's most useful and classic techniques is the ability to change the color of any object convincingly. This can come in handy in a wide variety of situations, such as adjusting the color of your subject's clothing, and this great video tutorial will show you how it is done.

Coming to you from Aaron Nace with Phlearn, this awesome video will show you how to use Photoshop to change the color of clothing to anything you want, including black or white, all while preserving the detail of the fabric and the proper highlights and shadows. This is one of the most fundamental and useful techniques in Photoshop. Even if you do not think you will find yourself needing to do this very often, it is still a good technique to just try out, as it will refine several skills almost anyone using Photoshop should have down. These include the usage of layer masks, Curves adjustments, Hue/Saturation adjustment layers, and more. And of course, while the technique is demonstrated on clothing, it can be used on just about any object you want to change the color of. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Nace.
