Backdrops are a fantastic tool for a wide variety of work, but the majority of the time, they are made of fabric, and fabric has a nasty habit of accumulating creases and wrinkles that can be distracting. Coming to you from Kayleigh June, this excellent video tutorial will show you how to remove creases in backdrops using Photoshop. As with most things in life, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and you can save yourself the headache of getting rid of these wrinkles in Photoshop by preventing them in the first place. One of the best investments I have made was a simple fabric steamer, which I run across my backdrop before every shoot (it is also quite useful for any wrinkles in clothing on set). If you get one, just be sure to use distilled water to prolong its life and prevent any buildup or corrosion. Nonetheless, there will be times where you need to get rid of a wrinkle, which is when it is time to turn to Photoshop. Check out the video above for the full rundown from June.
